Hi Ho, Hi Ho

And so it started! A nice un-rainy day was all we needed to commence clearing our plot - we knew there was some large piles of wood and brashings to burn but it turns out the whole plot is covered with finger size twigs and bigger under the mat of weeds. Much fire was made! Also discovered more brickwork and raised bed areas under all the debris. The plot is now reasonably clear, and I look like an old discarded pin cushion from way too much time with brambles!

Firing it up - it got so hot we had to change clothes and even lost some body hair getting too close <:s

In the background is all the re-cycled allotment goodies we've been holding on to from building work and back garden demolition, including; pallets, fencing, gates, patio doors, paving slabs, timber and even a garage door. No doubt Fran will create much cunningness, just like the A-Team - only green.

End of day - plot clear(ish) and even some (pilfered) mulch matting down at the back.  Having cut down the 12ft high privet on our first volunteer work day and cleared the plot of the second we are now enjoying the benefits just for ourselves!

And so it begins...

A year of waiting. A year of working away on our house. And now we're almost finished at Maison Mick a whole new project. So this is a diary for me, and if you like, for you.

Much wood, hedge trimming and bramble brashings to be cleared.

The whole plot - 20m long, between 10 and 12.5m wide.

Much work to be done...
